That’s where you come in. We are presently seeking a Talent Acquisition Advisor to partner with the business leaders in Toronto to provide full-cycle recruiting support to meet the needs of the business. This position will be responsible from sourcing to onboarding, and providing exceptional support and consultative services on internal and external management and unionized staffing.

Accountabilities

• Act as a Business Client Partner to management on all activities related to internal and external recruitment and other organizational initiatives, as per the collective agreements and management guidelines.
• Provide advice and support to management regarding the application of collective agreement staffing provisions.
• Provide management counsel and advice in determining appropriate screening/selection processes/ tools to staff positions.
• Conduct intake session with hiring manager to understand position requirements, set hiring manager expectations and gather input regarding sourcing strategy while simultaneously educating on market conditions trends, and keep hiring managers informed on sourcing progress.
• Ensure high quality candidates are sourced and submitted.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external candidates, ensure the optimal candidate experience, and positively represent the NAV CANADA brand.
• Participate in career fairs to screen potential external applicants and ensure effective representation of NAV CANADA as a preferred employer.
• Conduct screening interviews, in person and/or via telephone.
• For unionized positions, provide advice and guidance to managers on organizational change initiatives, preparing for union consultation on organizational change and facilitate process to effect change.
• Perform confidential exit interviews with employees who resign or retire.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of recruitment brand, processes and tools.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree from university or college diploma in a related field.
• HR designation considered an asset

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including the following:
• Experience acting as a Recruiter/Talent Acquisition Advisor in corporate and/or agency environments recruiting professional services and technical talent.
• Strong experience in Excel to organize, summarize, and draw insights to guide decision making.
• 2+ years’ experience using an enterprise-scale Applicant Tracking System.
• Change management and project management experience an asset.

Abilities

• Strong sourcing skills (social networking, referrals, database mining, career fairs, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to partner with hiring managers, to understand their business needs and collaborate on solutions.
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize a high requisition load in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency using the MS Office suite.
